Ramblings and Ravings For May 8, 2002 If any of you read my editor's corner on the front page of Sly Fox Magazine, then you'd know that my item of the day can sometimes seem pointless. Today, we have just another of those days, so here goes. The WWE? How long is it going to take me to get used to calling the WWF, an entity that I grew up on, the WWE? It doesn't roll of the tongue. As a matter of fact, it leaves me a little tongue-tied. Last year, there was all of this fuss about Napster. I think that I may have not have had access to a peer 2 peer file exchange that was decent for a total of 6 days in the last few months. First, Napster was shut down, then Morpheus morphed into garbage overnite, which brought me to...no, no, no. I'm not going to tout anymore for fear of losing the privelidge. Speaking of peer 2 peer, an excellent batch of songs to pick up is by an artist named Jack Johnston. First read about him in Rolling Stone and he sounded kind of interesting. Thus far, I like the music he puts out. I miss watching soap opera's in the daytime. The Young and the Restless has always been my favorite. I wonder who Victor Newman is married to now? Did I hear wrong or is Brooke Forrester from The Bold and The Beautiful having her son-in-law's baby? Last time I watched, her daughter was like 12? Enough soap opera talk. I think that some District Attorneys and investigators sometimes go to trial without even a case to try. I've been following a murder trial in the newspaper for the last few weeks and, if I wasn't as attached to the case, I could see a jury returning hung or, even worse, an acquittal. That would be a shame. Let's hope that the reporter for the paper just wasn't capturing the mood of the courtroom for, I fear, that a murderer may be getting away or the police mishandled what I would have thought would be a slam dunk of a conviction. The Pittsburgh Pirates seem to be able to play the defending World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks well. I still don't think the Bucs have a chance at a .500 record. Have I ever mentioned that I really like the taste of beer? |
